I have reached an agreement for staffing for the Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center event. Mid-Am rules, Mid-Am Points Mid-Am purse. NO race fees, just show up, put on a good show, and enjoy. A representative of Mid-Am will be there for any questions. I am close to figuring out the final details for the Kankakee County Speedway race, and I will start working out details with Sycamore Speedway to see if we can make all of this happen during this ownership transition.
Be patient, drivers, I could have just as easily canceled the whole season, but instead, I postponed events to figure out the best way forward without me but with you and a new set of ownership. Not quite ready to make an announcement on that yet, but hopefully in the next few days.
On a personal note:
Thank you to those teams for the positive correspondence. Taking this entire season on has proven to be too much. A house remodel, two full-time jobs, and Mid-Am being more or less full-time have taken a toll on my sanity and my career. While I make no apologies for focusing on my career, I hope this is a bit of goodwill to show I am trying to keep this series going sans me. For those that have made this transition event more painful....well, it is what it is I guess.
